As we are self-funded, we have nobody breathing under our necks to pull a quarterly profit, as such, we can develop and continue expanding our offerings free of the pressures that make most startups go bust. We generate income from adsense (located at our corporate our blogs), site sponsors and people contracting our parent company with projects. The spirit of buzvia is about spreading your online influence with others, we will facilitate that in any which way we can.

Can somebody else claim my domain?

Yes, anybody can claim any domain but they cannot do anything with it (including seeing the stats and creating a profile) until they upload a special, uniquely generated, buzvia file into their root directory. What this means is that only owners of the domain can actually confirm the domain. Once a domain is successfully claimed, it cannot be claimed again unless you delete it from your profile. Until a domain is successfully claimed, it's still available to be claimed by anybody. If you are familiar with Google Analytics, this claiming process operates in much the same way. Once you login, you will see, in order of influence, who is generating the most active leads for your site and inversely, the people you are linking to can see how much traffic you are sending their way.

How often do influence stats get updated?

Statistics get updated every half-hour and are based on a per month basis. Our buzboat, which searches for claimed domains, goes out every two hours and sends back an e-mail to those who have successfully claimed a domain. The members only area has a pulldown to allow you to see stats on a per month and year basis, meaning if you joined this month, it's quite possible you already have data from the previous months.
